If you'd like to view the Available Updates on a single machine, simply navigate over to the Updates tab in GoLive.

By using softwareupdate -l you can check the available System Updates on the Terminal of your macOS device. This is what GoLive uses to collect the information that it displays under Available Updates.

Once you navigate over to the Available Updates tab, you'll have the option of deploying an update to the machine or ignoring it.

When you deploy an Update from GoLive, you send the following command to your device: softwareupdate --install "macOS 10.15.3 Update- ", and since the command does not tell the device to restart, the device will not restart

GoLive acts like each device's individual policy when it comes to Restart Settings because it does not respect the settings you set up on the policy. You can see when the Update finishes from the Events tab in GoLive. Once the update is done you have several ways to restart the device.

Ways to restart the device are:
1. Ask the user to do so on their end.

2. From the Devices page, you can run any of the following commands:

Note: This command will not prompt the user before restarting the device. Also requires PPPC.
osascript -e 'tell app "System Events" to restart'

3. Or, from the Devices page, you can run a script similar to the script below.

Note: This simple script prompts the user to let them know their device has been updated and then proceeds to prompt the user to restart.

osascript -e 'display dialog "Hello, your device has been updated! Please restart as soon as possible"'
osascript -e 'tell app "loginwindow" to «event aevtrrst»'
4. Alternatively, and if your devices are using Self-Service you can prompt them that way. Using this script from our Community "Prompt for Restart".

5. Restart from the GoLive page, by using the Device status dropdown menu.
