With the addition of User Channel Configuration Profiles, an administrator will be able to deploy settings to a specific user on a device. Previously, device channel settings would be respected by all users of the device. For more information on how user channel configuration  profiles work, please see this.

Deploying User Channel Configuration Profiles:

To start, ensure that there is a profile that can be deployed via the user channel and that it has been created or uploaded to the Policy catalog. For a full list of supported profiles, double check Device Channel and User Channel Configuration Profiles article linked above. 

Once the profile has been created or uploaded, find a macOS device under Devices and click GoLive. In GoLive, click on Deployments, Profiles, and then MDM Configurations. Within this list, device based and user based profiles will be shown. Once deploy is selected on this device, a screen will popup asking the deployment method. The System option will deploy via device channel and selecting an individual user will deploy via user channel. There are some prerequisites for user channel deployment working properly.
