Policy Deployment Status allows you to view all the deployments being made by the selected policy. In a single view, you’ll be able to see what software, MDM configurations, System updates, facts, and much more have deployed in a clean and simple user interface. Policy Deployment Status is replacing View Details. View Details will be removed in a future release. 

When you expand the list of devices for an item being deployed, you may click the device Name and you will be taken to GoLive for that machine. GoLive will open in a new tab so you do not lose your place in Deployment Status. 

Viewing Policy Deployment Status

You can view your policy deployment status in two different ways,

  • The simplest way is to find the policy you want to inspect on your policy tree, right-click the name, and click Deployment Status (new)  or View Details

  • The second way to view policy deployment status is to find your policy, click on the name, in the dropdown select Deploy Changes, then click on the Deployment Status button.

Policy Deployment Status Functions 


Once your policy deployment status is open, you’ll be able to see which catalog item deployments are erroring out immediately as they will have a number(amount of errors) circled in red next to the catalog item name. This allows you to easily identify where you may be having deployment issues

After you select a Catalog item on the left, you’ll be able to quickly search through the list of deployed items to find the specific deployment item you are looking for. Once you click on that item, you’ll also be able to search for the specific device as well


Furthermore, you’ll be able to drill down into the specific device and see what the output of the deployment is. This helps when remediating issues and debugging deployments that utilize complex scripts.


A device will return one of the following statuses in policy deployment status,

  • Pending - This status occurs when the policy is attempting a new deployment to a device but has not been received by the device. All deployment starts with this status and eventually transitions to one of the other statuses.

  • Success - This means the item was successfully deployed and returned an exit code of 0

  • Failure - This means the item ran into an error while deploying and returned an exit code of 1. You can view the output here to help debug the issue

  • N/A - This means software items did not fail or succeed but may have run into a separate issue such as the deployment not being available for the OS which was being deployed too.

  • MDM, Apps and Books will only show devices that are MDM enrolled
  • Devices that have not completed an audit will not show in Deployment Statuses
